The puggle has arrived and he’s “shaking things up.”  Just ask Jake Gyllenhaal. His new hybrid pooch, a cross between a pug and a beagle, is catching the attention of dog owners around the world.

Attractive and intelligent, with a sparkling personality, puggles are the newest in a line of “designer dogs” that includes cockapoos and schnoodles.

They are already a hit in at least one pet shop in Nashville that can’t keep up with the demand. Likeable traits from two popular breeds can now be found in one “new breed:” puggles doesn’t have the short respiratory tract of the pug and are smaller than beagles, making them a more likely candidate for apartment life.
